The Kingdom of Morocco has officially been invited to join the international 'Peace Council' project proposed by the President of the United States. This invitation, addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is part of a dynamic aimed at strengthening mechanisms for mediation, stabilization, and conflict resolution on a global scale.
According to the official statement, this initiative aims to gather a limited number of international leaders recognized for their commitment to peace, security, and dialogue. The Council is expected to actively contribute to conflict prevention, support peace processes, and establish sustainable solutions in crisis regions.
The invitation to the Moroccan Sovereign constitutes an explicit recognition of Morocco's diplomatic role on the international stage. In recent years, Morocco has established itself as a credible and consistent actor in mediation, South-South cooperation, and regional stability promotion, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.
By positively responding to this invitation, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to the principles of multilateralism, dialogue, and the search for political solutions to conflicts. The Kingdom aims to contribute constructively to this initiative, in accordance with international law and existing geopolitical balances.
The Peace Council project is expected, legally, to take the form of an international organization with its own institutional framework. Its activities would focus on concrete cooperation, operational work, and partnerships aimed at tangible results, particularly in areas affected by armed conflict or chronic instability.
Furthermore, the statement emphasizes that Morocco reiterates its unwavering commitment to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East. The Kingdom maintains its position in favor of a two-state solution, allowing for the establishment of a viable Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living peacefully alongside Israel.
Through this announced participation, Morocco strengthens its positioning as a leading diplomatic actor, capable of engaging with all international partners and contributing to major initiatives in global peace and security.
