The organizing committee for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has revealed the official details of the tournament's opening ceremony, which will take place in Rabat. The event is scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
According to the statement, the ceremony will start at 6:30 PM, ahead of the inaugural match between Morocco and Comoros. This match will kick off the sporting events of CAN 2025, hosted in Morocco.
The stadium gates will open at 2:00 PM, to allow for a gradual entry of spectators and to avoid congestion around the venue. Organizers are urging fans to arrive early to facilitate checks and ensure the smooth running of the event.
Access to the stadium will be strictly conditional upon presenting a valid ticket. The committee specifies that the ticket is the sole means of access, both for the opening ceremony and for the Morocco–Comoros match.
Tickets are available exclusively through the Yalla, and require prior creation of a personal account. Organizers stress adherence to security protocols and logistical guidelines to ensure the successful execution of this major continental event.
