Morocco is set to end 2025 with exceptional tourist attendance. After welcoming 17.4 million visitors in 2024, the Kingdom continues its upward trajectory: by the end of October 2025, arrivals have already surpassed 16.6 million, marking a solid increase compared to the previous year. The trend observed since the beginning of the year shows continuous growth, with over 11.6 million tourists recorded by the end of July. This dynamic confirms Morocco's status among the top-performing destinations in the Mediterranean.
One of the key drivers of this growth is the expansion of low-cost flight routes. In 2025, several airlines have strengthened their presence in the Moroccan market, opening new routes to Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Fez, and Oujda. This increase has significantly broadened the country's accessibility, especially for short stays from Europe. Consequently, tourist flows have gained in density and diversity, reinforcing the position of regional cities on the national tourism map.
The promotional strategy implemented throughout the year has also contributed to this result. The French, Spanish, British, and German markets remain the most promising, but other European countries are seeing notable growth. The rise of city breaks, the development of cultural tourism, and the diversification of beach activities have allowed a broader and more segmented clientele to be reached. The traditional seasonality of the sector has gradually begun to diminish.
Infrastructure has kept pace with this evolution. Several airports improved their hosting capacity in 2025, responding to the increase in traffic. The hotel offering continues to adapt, with renovated establishments and new units in high-potential areas. This upgrade supports the rising average expenditure per visitor, which has been on the rise for two years, driven by better structuring of the offering and a greater diversity of services provided.
Economically, tourism confirms its central role, accounting for a significant portion of national GDP and supporting thousands of direct and indirect jobs. The sector's resilience to international fluctuations demonstrates its gradual integration into a broader strategy for territorial development and modernization of services.
As 2026 approaches, the outlook remains positive. If the European situation remains stable and air connectivity continues to expand, Morocco could reach a new milestone and exceed 18 million visitors. The challenge will be to enhance the quality of the offering, maintain environmental balances, and support emerging regions in this sustained growth.
